Today is my twenty-eighth wedding anniversary! I had a wonderful day! My husband took me to a yard sale with LOTS of fabric and patterns. I bought some fabric. I found a pattern for a skirt and vest that I made thirty years ago! It was one of the first outfits I ever made! I'll bet my Mom still has that pattern in her sewing closet. My husband bought me flowers and offered to take me to lunch. To Burger King.
You see, Burger King was the only option available to us for dinner on our wedding night! I had dreams and visions of a candlelight dinner in a nice restaurant. But we were exhausted! Having reached our hotel, we both needed a nap. By the time we woke up, Burger King was the only restaurant still open. So much for the candlelight dinner. Not to mention the fact that we could not afford the candlelight dinner!
Oh well! We are still together twenty-eight years later. We have four children, three boys and one girl. The children have grown up hearing the story of our wedding dinner. For many years, we went to dinner at Burger King every year. We have not done that for several years. A friend of our family sent us a gift card to BK for our anniversary. She is a good fit for our family.
We spent the evening at our children's piano recital. It wasn't a romantic dinner for two, but we did have a great time! I will try to post some pictures later. I hope you enjoy reading my blog. And now I am going to bed, to dream of Burger King.
